Coyotes, Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes, Bats, Red Tailed Hawks and Desert Tortoises are all part of The Mojave Desert.
Adaptations and diet. Coyotes: Coyotes are good at hiding because there tan coat helps them to blend into the bush and rocks and other things around The Mojave Desert. Coyotes mostly eat rabbits and rodents. Western Diamondback Rattlesnake: The western Diamondback Rattlesnake is a Pit Viper, so it has a heat sensing pits behind each nostril, these pits help the snake to hunt its prey. Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes eat mostly Kangaroo Rats and Lizards. Bats: Bats may be blind but they are very clever animals! Bats hunt their prey by sensing where their dinner is, that's right, bats sense vibrations through their nose, and that's how they make dinner. (even though they may get in our hair!) Bats mainly eat Beatles. Red Tailed Hawks: Red Tailed Hawks can target their prey so well because, the have excellent vision and can see in colour. Red Tailed Hawks mostly snack on Ground Squirrels. Desert Tortoises: Desert Tortoises belong to The Mojave Desert because they can live without water for up to a year and that is perfect for a life in the desert. Habitat All of the animals above, live in the Mojave desert. The Desert Tortoise is the only endangered species of them all. |
